Kentallen, Loch Linnhe
The Annual Hogmanay Hoolie. Two nights on the shores, a set menu dinner, a traditional Highland ceilidh, and the bells brought in the way they should be. 31 December 2026 and 1 January 2027.
The Hoolie
The Hoolie has run for years and the shape of it barely changes, because it works. You arrive on the 31st, dinner is served in the restaurant at your own table, and then the band sets up and the ceilidh carries the evening into the new year. Dance every set or watch from the side with a dram, whichever suits you.
The package covers two nights, 31 December and 1 January, in a sea view room for two people. Dinner is included on both evenings, breakfast on both mornings, and the pool and hot tub spa are yours to use from 9am. Twenty rooms, one ceilidh, and the loch outside every window.
Prices
The same price as last year. Dinner on both nights and breakfast on both mornings are in the price, and so is everything else at the hotel.
Private balcony with a table and chairs, a bath and a separate walk-in shower
Ground floor with patio doors onto a private terrace and a large walk-in shower
Sea view over Loch Linnhe, with a shower over the bath

31 December
Arrive early in the Highlands and make a day of it. Take a trip across the Corran Ferry, drive up into Glencoe, or head along to Fort William. For something more relaxing, the swimming pool and the hot tub spa are open from 9am. Check in is from 3pm.
The evening begins with our set menu in the restaurant, and then the festivities begin in earnest with a traditional Highland ceilidh. Bring your dancing shoes.

1 January
Have a lie-in if you fancy one. Breakfast runs well into the morning, and the day after that is yours to shape: the Munro you have been eyeing up, a wander round the Lochan at Glencoe, or a slow walk along the beach at Kentallen.
In the evening our a la carte menu is served in the seafood restaurant and the Captain's Bar. Afterwards, a well earned drink from Donald in the bar.

30 December and 2 January
Two nights is rarely enough up here. Arrive a day early, stay a day longer, or do both. Our Add A Night rate includes a full a la carte dinner, the room and a full Scottish breakfast.
Per room per night, for two people. Add it to your booking when you email us.
Sample menu
This is last year's Hogmanay set menu, to give you the shape of the evening. This year's is being written in the kitchen now and will be sent to you before the night.

The rest of the hotel

Twenty rooms
Hogmanay is booked by email or over the phone, and the rooms go to the people who ask first. A £250 deposit per room holds yours.

Our lodges, beach houses and cottages are a few minutes along the same shores, each with its own hot tub, and they are popular at New Year with families and groups who want the whole party under one roof.
Come to the ceilidh while you are here. Self-catering guests are very welcome at the Hogmanay dinner and the dancing after it, and the more the merrier: it is a better night with a full room. Tell us your numbers when you book your stay and we will set a table for you.
